About the Race:
¨ Rogaine format- Teams will have to choose which route to take.
¨ Disciplines- Mountain biking and trail running will be required, how much of each will depend on the route choice. Basic navigation skills will be required, but racers will be given pre-marked maps.
¨ Obstacles- Various obstacles will be spread along the race.
¨ Length- Actual distance will depend on which routes are chosen. Average distance will be about 20 miles.
2011 CAD Rules (Solo)
1. Racers must stay on a road or trail marked in green or red on the race map. No bush-whacking is allowed. Racers may not use a trail that does not appear on the map in green or red.
2. There will be “no bike zones” which racers must leave their bikes to enter. Only foot travel will be allowed in these zones. Racers must return to where they left their bikes to retrieve them and continue the race. These will be marked in red on the race map.
3. Foot travel is allowed on all trails and roads marked in green or red on the race map.
4. Racers must be back to the start/finish area within the 6 hour time limit to be considered official finishers.
5. Checkpoints acquired will be given priority over finishing time unless a racer goes over the 6 hour time limit.
6. If you encounter horse riders on the trail, dismount you bike and be careful not to scare the horse(s) as you pass. Please be as courteous as possible.
7. The race will involve two-way traffic on single-track trails. Be very careful when meeting oncoming traffic and stay to your right.
8. Racers who intend to complete the rappelling and ascending sections of the race must pass a prerace gear/knowledge check. Racers must also carry their gear for the entire race. Racers are not allowed to share rappelling or ascending gear with other racers. Racers who do not pass the prerace gear/knowledge check will be allowed to race in the solo division, but they will not be allowed to complete the ascending or rappelling sections of the race or receive credit for those checkpoints.
9. Racers must follow the directions of the race staff at all times, especially at the rappel and ascent sites. Race staff will have the final decision on what rappelling and ascending techniques are considered acceptable for the purposes of this race.

1. Teams must stay together the entire race. Teams will be penalized if they are observed to be more than 100 feet apart.
